If someone who dreams of success is constantly haunted by the shadow of failure, then even if they possess many innate advantages for success, they will ultimately fail.
A man once came to me hoping I could speak to God to help him pay off a debt. However, his mind was preoccupied with how he would cope with his creditors when he couldn't repay the debt. Thus, no matter how I spoke to God, his actions prevented him from escaping the shadow of debt. He should have imagined that he had already paid off the debt.
There's a story in the Bible about three kings in the desert who faced a shortage of water for their people and horses. They asked the prophet Elisha for help. The prophet gave them an uplifting message: "Though you see neither wind nor rain, this valley will be filled with water, so that you and your livestock may have water to drink."
Even if some ideas seem very far-fetched, everyone must prepare for what they ask for.
Here's an example: a woman needed to find an apartment in New York during a housing shortage, when everyone thought it was almost impossible to find a place. Her friends felt sorry for her: “That’s terrible! Looks like you’ll have to store your furniture in a warehouse and stay in a hotel.”
She replied, “You don’t need to worry about me. I’m Superman, I’ll find an apartment.”
So she spoke to God: “Holy Spirit, with infinite power, please make a way for me to find an apartment that meets my needs.” She knew that every request would be granted; as long as she worked on the spiritual level, she was “unlimited” because “being with God will bring victory.”
When she wanted to buy a new blanket, “temptation” (that is, the thought of rejection, or the rational mind) suggested: “Don’t buy a blanket; you probably won’t find a place, and you won’t need a blanket at all.” She
immediately said to herself, “I’m going to buy a blanket!”
So she continued to arrange everything for the new apartment—as confidently as if she had already found one.
In the end, she miraculously rented a place, even though there were more than 200 people who came to rent, she still got her wish.
The blanket incident demonstrated her positive faith.
“Not to mention the trenches dug by the three kings in the desert, which indeed overflowed with water.”
