A person with half-closed eyes

 　　I have bright eyes

　　They say I was born in a world of light

　　But I can only see darkness.

　　I have two sensitive ears

　　They say I live in a noisy country

　　But I can't hear a sound.

　　I walk with a brisk pace

　　They say the road before me is perfectly smooth

　　But why do I stop in my tracks?

　　My sense of smell is extraordinary

　　They say my home is filled with birdsong and fragrant flowers

　　But why can I only smell the stench of decay?

　　God told me to open my eyes wide

　　I said to God: If I open them too wide, I will be afraid.
