The winds of the times

　　Time carries the footsteps of history, and through the eyes of history, we stand on the shoulders of time to gaze into the distance. Mountains and rivers have undergone tremendous changes, a dragon has soared, and the land of China is now standing at the pinnacle of the world in a new guise.

　　The hardworking and kind Chinese people are writing scrolls of uninterrupted civilization. History, though weathered by vicissitudes, has repeatedly risen to the challenge. Having confirmed the realities of our nation, the Communist Party of China is our loyal and powerful leader. My country is amazing—having emerged from the decline of feudalism, you have stood up; riding the spring breeze of reform, you have become prosperous; striding into the new era, you have become strong. In 2017, we welcomed the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China. Looking back on the past five years, our Party has forged ahead fearlessly, achieving remarkable results in all aspects of development. The 19th National Congress is a summary—a summary of development, a summary of history; it is a direction—a direction for the Party's development and a plan for China's future development. The theme of the Congress calls for remaining true to our original aspiration and keeping our mission firmly in mind, holding high the banner of socialism with Chinese characteristics, securing a decisive victory in building a moderately prosperous society in all respects, winning the great victory of socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era, and striving to realize the Chinese Dream.
　　Even amidst the vicissitudes of time and the unpredictability of the future, only by remaining true to our original aspirations can we achieve our ultimate goals. Over the years, the domestic and international situations have been turbulent,
　　but China remains China, adhering to the development of socialism with Chinese characteristics and standing tall in the world with a unique perspective. In the report to the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, national leaders made strong plans for the future in politics, economy, culture, and other aspects, consistently emphasizing people's livelihood and requiring the Party to always share the same breath, destiny, and heart with the people, putting the people at the center of everything. I believe that our Party is the people's party, a reliable benefactor of the people, and it will lead the entire nation to overcome difficulties and forge ahead. The political environment affects the operation of a country's system. The report points out the need to strengthen the fight against corruption and promote integrity, ensuring that officials dare not, cannot, and do not want to be corrupt, and that the people have full confidence in the Party. "Green mountains and clear waters are better than gold and silver mountains"—this is a great undertaking for sustainable development and for the happiness of future generations. Earth is our home; we play, work, and enjoy everything in our home. We should love Earth, which is also what the report emphasizes in developing a green economy, protecting ecological civilization, and building a beautiful China. The green hills remain unchanged, the river flows on forever; I firmly believe in the boundless vitality of our Party, as evidenced by the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China.
　　Looking back through the years, I see the surging Yangtze and Yellow Rivers, the breathtaking scenery of the Three Mountains and Five Sacred Peaks, the boundless ice and snow of the North, the rolling waves of the East China Sea, and the pastoral songs of the Western Regions; the eternal Potala Palace, and the Great Wall winding its way to the mountain peaks. I know that my motherland is a prosperous, democratic, civilized, and harmonious country. Just as the movie says, "No matter where you are, in which country, when you are in danger, as long as you have a Chinese license, you will safely return to your loved ones." Because our motherland is strong, the Party and the country will not abandon any of its people. Our country is a defender of world peace; peaceful development is the theme of our times, but the territory of our motherland is inviolable. "Those who offend China, though far away, will be punished; those who harm our people are our enemies." Because our motherland is strong enough, this strength speaks for itself.
　　Youth never gives up, and the struggle will never be overdue. We will always adhere to the path of socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era and always strive to realize the Chinese Dream. Riding the wave of the times, standing out from the crowd, our country stands tall among the nations of the world.
