What's done is done; offering words of comfort is always superfluous.

The transition from naivety to maturity

seems to happen overnight,
without warning,
and even preconceived notions are superfluous. The growth from
child to adult seems to occur in the blink of an eye , too short to grow up before being forced to shoulder the responsibilities of a family. I used to think that turning gray overnight was an exaggeration, but now I know it's true; perhaps I just lack experience. The shift from liveliness to silence seems like the beginning and end of a single event, sudden yet inevitable. The shift from recklessness to caution also seems like the beginning and end of a single event, anticipated yet still unprepared. We don't know what will happen next , and even preconceived notions are futile. The impact on a person is immeasurable; different people have different perspectives. It's not about the size of the event , but its importance to the person involved. At times like these, any comfort is superfluous; all one can do is silently endure , learn to mature, learn to grow up, and finally understand that silence is the best answer.
